Compensation: $24.50-$27.50
Shifts: M-F 8am-5pm

Position Description:

• Check and change oil and oil filters
• Grease automobiles, trucks, trailers and sweepers
• Service, charge, remove, and replace batteries and tires in the shop and the field
• Check and maintain fluid levels
• Check vehicles for service due dates
• Detail interior and exterior of vehicles
• Perform general cleaning work in garage and repair shops
• Direct assistant mechanic in minor repairs and maintenance
• Drive vehicles to and from service sites
• Process fleet management work orders and inventory control
• Keep accurate record of fluids dispersed, vehicle mileage, hours, tires, oil filters, materials and supplies taken from inventory
• Perform related work as required or assigned

Minimum Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid state-issued driver’s license
• One year of previous professional experience in fueling, greasing, lubricating and detailing of automotive and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment – OR – Completion of a two-year technical degree in auto, heavy duty, or agricultural mechanics including an internship
• Current knowledge of routine maintenance requirements of gasoline and diesel engines
• Ability to independently perform routine maintenance tasks on vehicles, vehicle engines, and on other miscellaneous equipment
• Ability to follow oral and written instruction
• Ability to keep accurate and routine written records
• Ability to use a computer to enter and retrieve data
• Experience using jacks, hand tools and power tools
• Ability to work long hours and in varied weather conditions
• Ability to lift, position, and pull 50 pounds and perform manual labor

Metro Sweeping Company has seasonal as well as permanent positions for driving sweepers and performing a variety of associated tasks around our shop.

Opportunity to grow into Key Person position for right candidate.

Duties Include:

• Working flexible hours, including nights and weekends as needed and periods of heavy seasonal work load.
• Operate or learn to operate all company equipment including sweepers, front-end loader, bobcat, skid-steer, dump-truck, sweepers, and trailers
• As requested, learn to perform simple diagnostic, and / or light and preventative maintenance as needed on all vehicles and equipment including mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.

Qualifications:

• Must be eligible to legally be employed in the US
• At least 18 years of age
• Perform physical requirements of position with or without reasonable accommodations including lifting up to 60 lbs.
• Pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records checks.

Requirements Include:

• Current & Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is a plus
• DOT Medical Certificate
• $$22-$30+ / hour – competitive pay based on qualifications and experience
• Incentives / Bonuses based on individual and company performance
• Ability to pass drug test.
